Tertiary Dimensions unveils the artists’ sensitivity to space and how such considerations of the queer body amongst the domestic, the architectural, the landscape, interiors or exteriors, public or private, might summon, conjure, or propose a third space. Here, the third space represents a platform in which intersectionality is embraced as a tool to drive through oppressive structures. At this junction, we might examine how these artists navigate through visibility. At play, their responses to space serve as pivotal interventions, where the critique, the imagination, and the radical become equally important. From sculpture to photography, drawing to video, we observe such concerns of new dimensionality and depth articulated via mappings, site-specific installations, material explorations, and personal collections.
Join us for Bending the Circuit, a screening of works by Devin Cain, Margaret Bobo-Dancy, and Amina Ross, followed by an informal discussion. 7pm on September 12th.
Sector 2337 is open Wed-Sat, 2-6p
